About Kenn
& Malene
|
Kenn started
dancing at the age of 2 1/2, while Malene started at the late (!) age of 7. They
have been dancing together since 1988, and liked being together so much they got
married in June 1996. At present they live in England, where they moved to from
their native Denmark in 1990. They turned professional in 1997, and now teach
and practice at the World famous Dance Options studio.
During their
early years in England, Kenn & Malene decided to continue their academic
development as well, and started studies at the University of London. Kenn took
up Computer Science, while Malene studied Economics & Politics. They both
graduated with honours in 1995.
To
counteract their busy schedule, Kenn & Malene enjoys relaxing at home with
friends or visiting family. Malene also enjoys reading and shopping, while Kenn
has a pendant for computers and classic cars |

This is what Kenn & Malene can do for
you:
Teaching - They provide structured, professional advice
and information on all aspects of ballroom dancing, including:
- Dance technique & fundamentals for dancers of all levels.
- Unique choreography specifically designed to enhance each
couple's strengths.
- Exercises to improve posture, poise and presentation.
The format of teaching can be single lessons, group lessons/work
shops or lectures.
Demonstrations - Kenn & Malene can supply the perfect
show for your event. They combine the classic individual dances with themed
segues - fabulous music and costumes complete the experience. (see preview in
the gallery section on this site!)
Adjudicating - Amongst other
competitions, Kenn & Malene have had the great honour of judging both the
French and Estonian National Championships. For a qualified and impartial

Kenn & Malene's Diary
 It has been a busy summer for Kenn & Malene. First they traveled to Italy
for the European Professional Standard Championships, where they enjoyed
a few days at the Grand Hotel in Cervia.
On their return to London they decided now was the time to change some of
their choreography to be ready for the start of the season. (Watch out for even
greater fluidity and musical contrast!)
They then went to Denmark to lecture at the Danish Professional Dance
Teacher's yearly congress which they enjoyed very much - it would seem that
so did the audience as Kenn & Malene received a standing ovation.
A few weeks later it was then back to Denmark for the Youth summer
training camp where over 80 couples participated. The kids were great and
Kenn & Malene were exhausted afterwards!
Malene was then off to Cardiff to judge the Welsh Open Championships
which had been given Word Open status by the IDSF.
Kenn & Malene are now busy preparing for the German Open Championships in Mannheim
(29th August-2nd September) where they will take part in both the Professional
Standard and Professional Showdance event - the showdance will be very
interesting as the will be the first time Kenn & Malene are showing their
reworked "Shake & Rattle" number.
The following week (5th - 10th September) Kenn & Malene will be off to
Miami for the United States Dance
Sport Championships where the World's Professional Showdance Championship is
taken place.
