The following is a career story of William Pino & Alessandra Buciarelli, introduced themselves in their homepage.

Career Story
We are William Pino & Alessandra Bucciarelli and, as you can see from the photos, we're a couple of dancers.

We started dancing in young age, about six years old, with different partners, obtaining good results, and winning a lot of compatitions, and some Italian Championships. Our fortunes crossed each other, and we don't know why, on May 1990. After only a month of hard preparation (our first record!), in June we got our first competition, in Cervia, at the Festival Internazionale della Danza, reaching the second place in Youth Modern.  Really motivated by this results, our career got an incredible increase.

In 1991 in fact,  we were Italian Champions in the Amateur A2 Latin American, and runners up in the Amateur A1 Modern competitions, loosing the title for only a one.

Next year we were in the International Class, dream of every italian dancer. We reached the final at the first attempt, and obtaining a good 6th place, overcoming a lot of titled couples. Here starts our international adventure, and we were winner of the German Open Championships and the International Open in London, in the Youth Modern.

1993 was a great year !!! We were, in fact, the first italian couple to win   the Blackpool Dance Festival in the Under 21 Modern, and we were one of the youngest couple evere winning this title.
The day after we reached the semifinal ( 7th place ) in the Amateur Modern competition .

In 1994 we were runners up in the Italian Championships, and we finally reached the final in the Blackpool Dance Festival, taking the 5th place.

We danced for the first time the Eurepean and World Championships in 1995, taking the 4th place, but winning the Italian Amateur 10 dance championships.

In 1996 we placed 4th in all the english competitions (UK, International, Blackpool), and 3rd in the World Amateur Championships in Vienna, taking a 2nd place in tango. We were runners up also in the World Ranking List.

In 1997 after a long rise from the rank, we finally won the Italian Championships, and we placed 3rd in the english competitions and in the European and World Amateur 10 dance Championships. In the same year, we placed 2nd in the World Modern Championships, winning two dances. We were again runners up in the Ranking list.

1998 was a very special year for us. We won every competitions exept the Blackpool Dance Festival, and so we were the new WORLD AND EUROPEAN AMATEUR CHAMPIONS.

6. Do you think you can speak of an Italian Style?
Infact we don't feel that we can speak about an Italian Style , we can probalbly only say , that is very normal for us that the Culture of a country can ,to a certain degree, influence the way we "Act" in our life , so in that respect this can probably happen to our Dancing world as well.

7. In the past Italian couples did not reach that high in the world of
We fell because there was an increase of interest in Dancing , infact the Competitive Dancing in Italy was not so popular few years ago so there was less people Dancing Competion , and training as hard as Italian Dancers do today . So the increase of popularity and a better training are possibly the reasons why now Italian dancers gets so good results.

8. What are your biggest achievements?
We won every major Championship in the World for the Amateur : two U.K , Two Europeans , two Worlds , the Britisch Open , the International Open , two German Open , Three Italian Cahmpionships , etc......

9. You make dancing look so easy. Do you think it is easy?
We think that it is not so easy , but the practice and the experience should be able to make the dancing look easy .

10. The things you do in Tango are almost impossible to lead. How do you do
If it was impossible I will not be able to do it , so it is possible and like I already said it is a matter of practice , experience , and knowledge plus not to be afraid of making mistakes.

11. This question is for Alessandra. What makes William you ideal partner?
Because he gives me the feeling of certainty in everything he does so I can concentrate on expressing myself at 100%.

12. This question is for William. What makes Alessandra you ideal partner?
I can easily say that for me is exactly the same.

13. When did you turn professional?
We turn Professionals last December after winning our second World Amateur Championship.

14. Have you competed as professionals yet? What was the result?
Yes , we are now British Pofessionals Rising Star Champions , and Finalst in Tango at The Open Professionals British Championship.

15. On what aspect of dancing do you train the most?
It is very difficult to find a single aspect , but the one we concentrate the most on is the Leading and Follow in everything we dance.

16. Are there dancers that you look up to? Who?
We did when we were at the beginning , but that were more than one.

17. What is your next goal? World Professional Champions?
It is something we aim at, together with improving our dancing .

18. Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself?
We are 27 and we are born close to Rome , we dance together from 17 years old. I 'm a computer Programmer , Alessandra is a Designer. Alessandra has got one brother and one sister, our hobbies are William (Computers,Golf) Alessandra (Aerobic,Painting).

19. Are you active on the Internet? Do you have a website?

20. Do you think you have a weak spot in dancing? What is it?
Yes , we still touch the floor from time to time.............................

21. Will you compete in the Showdance section?
Yes , we was second in the Italian Professional Championship , and we will dance the World Professionals in Miami this year.
