1. Swinging Motion: The action
of swinging the body weight from foot to foot as though suspended from an anchor
point high above, like a pendulum.
Pendulum Motion:
Movement of the body or part of the body which emulates the swinging
action of a pendulum: A lower portion of the body travels at a faster rate of
speed than a portion of the body above.
Leg Swing:
A
pendulum-type swinging action of the leg underneath the
hip.
Body Swing:
A
pendulum-type swinging action of the body.
Body Flight: The natural release
of body weight from a swinging action. Body Flight is found in the ballroom
swing dances.
2. Metronomic Motion:
Movement of the body or part of the body which emulates the swinging
action of a metronome: An upper portion of the body travels at a faster rate of
speed than a portion of the body below.
